X-MEN | Who are the X-Men?

They are mutants, born with strange and awesome powers that set them apart from humanity. Gathered together by Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart) in pursuit of their dream of equality, the X-Men battle for peace. United by tragedy, bound by honor, they fight to protect a world that fears and hates them!

Magneto (Ian McKellen) has a very different approach to human-mutant relations. He uses his mastery of magnetism to bully humanity and clear the way for mutants to rule.

Humans fear and despise the genetically-superior mutants, following a policy of zero tolerance that calls for total destruction of all "muties." Xavier and Magneto lead divergent groups of mutants in conflict over the means to pursue their self-defense.

Xavier hopes that humans and mutants could coexist peacefully some day, and his X-Men are sworn not to kill. His followers include Wolverine (Hugh Jackman, superhuman senses, healing ability, claws), Cyclops (James Marsden, concussive eyebeams), Storm (Halle Berry, weather control), Rogue (Anna Paquin, memory absorption, flight, super strength), and Jean Grey (Famke Janssen.)

Magneto is taking no chances and does not hesitate to use violence to achieve his goals. His minions include Toad (Ray Park), Sabretooth (Tyler Mane), and Mystique (Rebecca Romijn.)
