After doing 8 performances, 6 days a week, for 6 weeks, the cast were given a Sunday evening off. With a luxurious 52 hours until the next show the 63 cast members scattered across the Western US — many to the Grand Canyon. Sir Ian, Charlotte Cornwell, Stephen Moore, and Keith Stern headed for a little town in the mountains above San Diego, where the local inn was temporarily converted to the Ian Hotel.
